Product 2004 Mercurey Vieilles Vignes Albert Sounit successfully added to compare list
What else can we say about this Domaine? After all, we already shout about it to anyone who'll listen! Just for a moment, forget the big names of the Cote d'Or where famous village names alone allow the wines to command high prices, sometimes regardless of the quality in the bottle. Instead, think less well-known village and, in the case of the Cote Chalonnaise pair, no village at all! Think flavour before fame.
Don't compare them to supermarket "Burgundy" at £6.99 a bottle. Instead, compare them to the best Burgundies you have tasted.
Minimum intervention in the winery means sometimes a sediment appearing in the bottle.
Simple Chalonnais in name only. From a Domaine such as this, there is no such thing! Rich and luscious and more than able to stand up to strong flavours.
Although the Village may not be as famous as Puligny or Meursault, the wine it produces can still surprise and impress. The lack of fame merely makes this a bargain.
