New vintage tasting case
Regular price £191.50 Sale price £180.00Friulano Casali Roncali from Cantine Bertiolo A wine first shipped last year the sales of which took us by surprise. Indigenous Friuli varietal that the locals drink but that is largely unheard of elsewhere. Back in stock, a new vintage and going on the by-the-glass list in the Wine-Boutiques.
Sauvignon Blanc Casali Roncali from Cantine Bertiolo Same people and a 94 point awarded wine (Luca Maroni) this vintage; a grown-up Sauvignon for lovers of Sancerre I think.
Albariño Castel Fornos from Bodegas Chaves Tino’s wines are always good and we would measure our Albariño with the best but this vintage? The 2023? Best yet.
Gavi dei Comume di Gavi Il Rocchin Ditto the Albariño remarks. So good.
Sauvignon Blanc Touraine Celliers de Beaujardin Must be a 2023 thing. Always popular but a real taste of the terroir this vintage.
Grauburgunder Weingut Heinrich Gies One of our go-to summer wines and showing just so well currently.
Crèmant de Loire Prestige Celliers de Beaujardin Not to be confused with regular (non-Prestige?) Crèmants as this beauty gets a full three years resting in the cellar which bestows an amazing elegance.
Château du Fonscolombe Rosé de Provence Creamy textured and reassuringly pale and no Celebrities are harmed in the making......
Schioppettino Casali Roncali from Cantine Bertiolo A local-only grape variety delivering in this wine a warm hug of fruit, terroir and style. Also 94 points from Luca Maroni.
Finca Tardana Ribera del Duero We’ve had a few false starts with Ribera before now but we may just have hit the spot with this wine from a trusted supplier. Full weight and very nice with a barbecue I reckon.
Pinot Nero Trevenezie from Cantine Bertiolo Tawny coloured and refreshingly light for the summer we will be serving this sweet-fruited pinot Noir chilled.
Tinto Dulce de Bodegas Alconde A bit of fun here with a style ubiquitous across Spain and Eastern Europe but that is hard to find here. Good honest sweet red sweetened with mosto (grape must) and NOT sugar and without the heavy alcohol of a Port wine. Try this with cheese....
