Each session includes tasting four wines. Complete all four modules and receive a framed certificate.

Level one - What is wine?

This module covers viticulture and vinification and explains how different characteristics develop in the wine. Navigate and understand a label and taste four wines of the same variety.

Level two - Classic regions and their regulations

Understand the history and development of different wine regions and the regulations governing the production of wine. Learn the characteristics of different grapes and why some winemakers choose to blend varieties. Taste four wines from classic regions.

Level three - Fortified and Sparkling wines

Learn how Sherry, Port and Champagne are made and regulated. Discover lesser known fortified and sparkling wines such as Pineau des Charentes and Charmat. Taste four examples.

Level four - The market

A brief history of the British wine trade and its influence on today's buying prejudices. Case studies of Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and others. The rise of Branded wines. What does wine actually cost?
